Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

But here I am. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

I AM YOURS….for the next few minutes or so. [insert smiley emoji with the widest grin]

Superman and I have been weaving away at our nest. Embracing change with Byrd as best we can, steering our middle cattle (Bay & Bubz) on the straight and narrow acreage. All the while Waka is forever keeping us on our toes. With each of their personalities growing and farming out in different directions, I am reminded that we only have a small window as parents to influence them.
We now have one out the house on her own, one in high school, one in junior high and one in elementary. The range of school work brought home each day is bizarre to say the least. I praise God for the children He's given us.

I’m constantly reminding myself they were never mine to keep. I am but a vehicle to get them to where they need to go.

As a parent, some days we feel like a failure when our kids don’t listen or heed our warnings. They may go through a rebellious phase or give us an attitude. They may be defiant or struggle in school. They may favor time with friends over family time. They may want less talk from us and more of what we can give them. It’s on those types of days that we need to be reminded that we shall not be defeated or in the words of Maya Angelou “We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated”.

We must soldier on and support our kids as best we can in their quest. With everything the world is throwing at them Social media has a strong influential pull that can incapacitate a young person emotionally, mentally and intellectually. The side effects are mostly negative. I’ve argued that point with my eldest on many occasions only to be rewarded with an eye roll and mumbling. LOL

One of our greatest tools with our kids is prayer....consecutive prayer, interactive prayer, joyous in the moment victory prayers, tearful supportive prayers, praying in the car, praying out and about in public, praying in school, praying at work, pray at the beginning, middle and end of day prayer. Our kids cannot use the tools we simply tell them unless they see it at work in our lives. Making it a habit for them to understand and utilize that tool. GO JESUS!!!!
