Sunday School Camp 2019
The hustle and bustle of tent set up began,
Excitement grew as everyone arrived Friday at 4pm,
as each team tried to figure out how to assemble each tent
We had the supervisors and overseers cheering on the tent
makers.
Laughing and joking as we chipped away at earning our tent
making badge.
Persistent grew and struggle ensued with every tent stake,
rope, hammer and stick.
But long last after the 10th tent was finally put
up, we earned our badge of honor for tent making!!
After the last camp goer finally arrived, you can hear
children laughing while riding their bikes around,
Then we settled the air and calmly made our way to the
sanctuary for Tama’s Good Friday Message.
Although it may not have been a good Friday for Jesus, it
was a good Friday for us, because of Him.
The message of our Risen Savior rang so well with our spirits.
To know that the grave is the final place,
Yet Jesus rose again with a promise to return in the near
future, To God be the Glory!!
Thank You Jesus for the cross, what it stands for, what it
represents and the grace we received from it.
After Good Friday Service, the celebration continued into
the Hall for out potluck.
The variety of foods at the potluck made our stomachs jump
for joy,
From kid
friendly food items of pizza and pasta,
To the
curry flavor infused soup, to dinner rolls with chicken galore.
Crowd
favored orange chicken and chow mein were definitely on the menu.
We ate
to our hearts content, and shared stories and laughed the night way.
The kids
played fun games and sang songs all night,
The fun
continued around the fire pit for smores,
Kids
with their sticks around the burning fire, flames and giggles fill the night
air, until the clock struck midnight!
While
the children lay to rest, the helpers got busy filling eggs and peeling
potatoes all night.
We awoke
to the sound of the beating drum which signaled the start of prayer meeting at
6am
Enjoyed
a wonderful breakfast feast, before it was time to break down the tents.
Once the
tents were gone, all the young women got to work laying out hundreds and
hundreds of eggs!!!
Seeing
the children scurry and hurry to find eggs, brought laughter to our crowd.
The
adults got to join in on the fun by having their own Adult egg hunt. Fun for
all!!
We
enjoyed lunch together and enjoyed the sun, playing volleyball and kids
enjoying the jumper.
Tis was yet,
another successful Sunday School Camp. Enjoy our church memories.
